Recently, a set of new spy photos capturing the Renault Clio GT undergoing road testing has been leaked. The new model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 1.8L gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined output exceeding 147 kW. It is equipped with a 1.4 kWh battery pack, enabling all-electric driving at low speeds. Positioned as a sporty model, it will compete directly against rivals such as the Volkswagen GTI. Exterior-wise, the Clio GT continues Renault’s “Nouvelle Vague” (New Wave) design language. The front fascia sports a polygonal grille with scale-like detailing inside, while a black lower air intake integrates fang-shaped daytime running lights. Sharp character lines run along the sides, complemented by black wheel arch cladding and dual-tone sporty alloy wheels, giving the car a crossover-inspired stance. At the rear, the design emphasizes muscularity, featuring quad-element taillights and a small black ducktail spoiler atop the tailgate. Interior details have not yet been revealed, but it is expected to carry over the minimalist aesthetic of the standard Clio, including a multifunction sport steering wheel and a twin-screen setup that integrates the instrument cluster and central infotainment display. Additionally, the Clio GT will receive targeted upgrades to its suspension and braking systems to enhance dynamic driving performance.
