Recently, criminals have falsely used the name of "Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd." and relevant regulatory authorities to send fraudulent text messages to some car owners, and through unofficial links induced owners to provide personal information and go through so-called recall procedures. Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. issued a statement saying that the above-mentioned text messages and attached documents are not official recall notices issued by Volkswagen. The company advised car owners not to click on suspicious links, reply to related messages, or provide personal and vehicle information to unknown sources. To check vehicle recall information, owners can verify through the official website of the Defective Product Recall Technology Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation (www.samrdprc.org.cn) or contact the official channels of Volkswagen Group's joint ventures.
