Infineon Technologies AG has unveiled AURIX RC1, its first microcontroller platform based on the RISC-V architecture. The platform spans configurations from traditional microcontrollers to hybrid microcontroller/microprocessor (MCU/MPU) setups, targeting real-time control in the "software-defined vehicle" and "physical AI" domains. Infineon has merged its Aurix and Traveo T2G product lines into a unified platform. The product family can integrate up to 12 32-bit cores, features edge AI acceleration and 40MB of embedded memory; a 64-bit microprocessor family will be introduced in the future. The accompanying DriveCore software solution supports virtual prototyping and uses AI technology to assist in migrating code from existing chips to the new platform. Infineon will showcase the AURIX RC1 series concept at electronica in Munich on November 10, 2026, and plans to provide samples in the first half of 2027.
