NIO's Li Bin Attends 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit and Delivers Speech

On November 4, Li Bin, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of NIO, attended the Internet Entrepreneurs Forum at the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit and delivered a keynote speech. In his speech, Li Bin stated that smart electric vehicles have become the largest AI application industry. He noted that the global automotive industry—from components to complete vehicles, sales, and further to services and finance—has a total scale of roughly 7 trillion to 9 trillion USD (approximately 46.79 trillion to 60.16 trillion RMB at current exchange rates), and AI applications in the automotive industry will create over 1.2 trillion USD (approximately 8.02 trillion RMB at current exchange rates) in commercial value. Li Bin stated that drivers worldwide spend a total of over 1.5 billion hours driving each day, and global annual road traffic fatalities exceed 1.16 million. He said that the greatest significance of intelligent driving is not to take jobs away from taxi and ride-hailing drivers, but to free up their energy and reduce accidents. Li Bin remarked: "The value of AI is to make people's work easier and safer, not to deprive human existence of its meaning."
