On November 5, 2026, Tesla inaugurated its engineering center Cybaer in Berlin, Germany. The center brings together Tesla's European component design and testing teams, consolidating engineering facilities previously spread across four locations and 30 laboratories into a single campus, covering materials, powertrain, vehicle engineering, and validation teams. The engineering center was converted from a cable factory and currently employs approximately 250 engineers and technicians. Tesla has submitted an application to the government for phase two construction of the engineering center, with plans to increase the workforce to 500. The total investment in the project amounts to 100 million euros (approximately 750 million yuan). The center will serve the entire European market.
