NIO's William Li and Geely's Li Shufu Hold First Public Dialogue at 2026 World Internet Conference

On November 5, NIO Founder, Chairman, and CEO William Li and Geely Holding Group Chairman Li Shufu held a dialogue at the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit · Automobile Night Talk. This was the two sides' first public dialogue since NIO and Geely Holding reached a strategic cooperation on battery charging and swapping on September 28. William Li stated that the strategic cooperation with Geely on battery charging and swapping evolved from the signing of a strategic framework two years ago to cooperation in capital, technology, products, and operations in 2026. On September 28, NIO and Geely Holding Group reached a comprehensive strategic cooperation in the field of battery charging and swapping. The two sides will jointly invest in their respective battery charging and swapping business entities, share battery charging and swapping technologies and standards, and jointly build a battery charging and swapping service network. Geely Holding Group will invest in NIO Power with its 100% equity in Yiyi Interconnect and 640 million yuan in cash. After the transaction is completed, Geely Holding Group will hold a 30% stake in NIO Power. Yiyi Interconnect's battery swapping business for commercial vehicles will be merged into NIO Power. The two sides will jointly build unified consumer-side battery swapping technologies and standards. Geely Holding Group will develop consumer-side battery swapping models, and NIO Power will provide services for Geely Holding Group's consumer-side battery swapping models.
